Drums carry the energy of a track, so a weak beat or a messy drum mix holds everything else back. This hub brings together our drum and beatmaking tutorials: programming your first beat in Ableton, the elements of trap and house beats, getting a punchier kick and snare, parallel compression, and mixing drums for punch, clarity and groove.
It’s for beatmakers and producers who want drums that hit hard and sit cleanly in the mix, whatever genre they make. If you’re new, start with Your First Drum Beat In Ableton Live and the Drums In Ableton guide, then try the house or trap beat tutorials. When the pattern is right, work through the kick and snare guides. Finish with the drum mixing articles, including parallel compression, to bring it all together.
