Pomodoro Timer: Focus Timer for Musicians & Producers

How to use the Pomodoro timer

Press Start and focus on one task, like writing a verse, arranging a section or practising scales, until the soft chime plays. Take a 5-minute break, then repeat. After every 4 focus sessions you get a longer 15-minute break. You can change every length, start sessions automatically, mute the chime, or turn on desktop notifications. The countdown shows in your browser tab, and your daily and all-time session counts are saved on this device.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro technique?

It is a time-management method: work in focused blocks (traditionally 25 minutes), take a 5-minute break after each, and a longer 15 to 30 minute break after every 4 blocks.

Does the timer keep running in a background tab?

Yes. It works from the real end time rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate even when your browser slows down background tabs.

Can I change the session lengths?

Yes. Set focus, short break and long break lengths in minutes, and choose how many focus sessions come before a long break.

Is my data saved?

Your settings and session counts are stored only in this browser with localStorage. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Why do I need to allow notifications?

You don’t. Notifications are optional and only requested when you press the button. The chime and tab-title countdown work without them.

Is Pomodoro good for music production?

Yes. Short focused blocks help you finish ideas, and regular breaks rest your ears so you judge your mix more accurately.
