How to use Trimline

Drop your mix bounce and, if you have them, your stems as WAV or MP3. Each file gets a pass, warn or fail report covering sample peak, 4x oversampled true peak, clipping, integrated loudness and loudness range, DC offset, the start and end of the file, stereo balance, phase correlation, mono compatibility and format. The report only points things out. It never fixes anything for you.

Pick -3 dB, -6 dB or both. That gain change is the only change made to your audio. Files are exported at their original sample rate as 24-bit or 32-bit float WAVs with clear names, stems go in their own folders, and a README and CSV info card with BPM, key, levels and your notes for the mastering engineer is included in the ZIP.

Everything is processed in your browser. Your audio is not uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Does Trimline change my audio?

Only by the gain you pick: -3 dB or -6 dB. It does not limit, EQ, dither, normalize, fade, trim or resample. The measured peak change is shown so you can confirm it.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are decoded, checked and exported in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Why is my MP3 flagged?

MP3 is a lossy format. The tool decodes it so you can still check it, but mastering engineers usually want the original WAV bounce.

How much headroom should I leave for mastering?

Many engineers ask for peaks around -3 to -6 dBFS with no limiter on the mix bus. Ask your engineer what they prefer; the tool can export both.

Is there a plugin version?

A Trimline plugin is planned.
