Name Generator: Song, Artist & Playlist Names

How to use the name generator

Choose whether you need a song title, an artist or band name, or a playlist name, then pick a genre and a mood. Add a keyword or two, such as a place or an image from your lyrics, and about half of each batch will build on it. Press Generate more for a fresh batch, copy any name with one click, and star the ones you like so they stay in your favorites list on this device.

Frequently asked questions

Is the name generator free?

Yes. It is free, has no sign-up and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

How does it come up with names?

It mixes genre and mood word lists with dozens of title patterns, so each batch is new. Keywords you enter are woven into about half of the results.

Can I use the generated names for my music?

You can use any name you like, but check it first. Search Spotify, Apple Music and social media for artists already using it, and check the trademark register in your country before you print merch or sign a deal. The tool filters out well-known artist and brand names, but it cannot check every one.

Where are my favorites saved?

Favorites are stored in your browser’s local storage on this device. They stay after you close the page, but they are not synced to other devices and are removed if you clear your browser data. Use Copy all to keep a copy elsewhere.

What makes a good song title?

Short, memorable titles that come from the hook or the main image of the lyric tend to work best. Say it out loud, make sure it is easy to search for, and check that it isn’t already a famous song in your genre.
